The system, explained

Capture more at the first stage.

EcoProtector uses an inlet weir and vortex flow path to separate gross pollutants and sediment. Captured material is stored for removal during maintenance, while the high-flow arrangement allows water to pass through the system.

How it works

Purpose in every detail.

01

Direct the inflow

The inlet weir directs water into the vortex flow path.

02

Separate and store

Gross pollutants and sediment move into the storage chamber.

03

Inspect and remove

Dedicated access allows inspection and pump-out of retained material.

For designers & specifiers

How to specify
EcoProtector.

Start with the project requirements.
We’ll help you confirm the right configuration.

  1. Pollutant objectives

Confirm gross pollutant and sediment treatment objectives.

  2. Design flows

State treatment flow and peak bypass flow.

  3. Storage volume

Select pollutant storage capacity and a maintenance interval suited to the catchment.

  4. Network connection

Provide pipe sizes, orientation, invert levels and downstream constraints.

  5. Site conditions

Confirm cover loading, groundwater, excavation and backfill requirements.

  6. Access and documentation

Provide pump-out access and request model-specific drawings and maintenance instructions.

Suggested specification wording

Complete the bracketed project details and confirm the selected model with Protector.

Supply a Protector EcoProtector gross pollutant trap, model [MODEL], with inlet diversion weir, vortex separation and pollutant storage. Size for [FLOW] L/s treatment flow and [PEAK FLOW] L/s peak flow, with storage suited to the nominated catchment and maintenance interval. Provide connections, access covers and pump-out access as shown on the approved drawings. Install in accordance with current manufacturer instructions.
