How to specify
DrainShield.

Start with the project requirements.
We’ll help you confirm the right configuration.

  1. Authority requirements

    Confirm the local trade-waste authority’s acceptance and sizing requirements.

  2. Wastewater load

    Provide fixture numbers, peak flow and the nature of the trade waste.

  3. Capacity and model

    Select the DrainShield model and required working capacity.

  4. Installation type

    Nominate above-ground or below-ground installation and available space.

  5. Plumbing and access

    Coordinate pipework, venting, sampling and pump-out access.

  6. Operations

    Confirm cover loading where relevant and the required maintenance schedule.

Suggested specification wording

Complete the bracketed project details and confirm the selected model with Protector.

Supply a Protector DrainShield FRP grease interceptor, model [MODEL], with a working capacity of [CAPACITY] L for [PREMISES / DUTY]. Confirm selection against the relevant trade-waste authority requirements and nominated fixture/flow data. Provide [ABOVE-GROUND / BELOW-GROUND] installation with connections, ventilation, sampling and pump-out access as shown on the approved plumbing drawings. Provide current installation and maintenance instructions.

Final dimensions, capacities and installation details are established in the approved project drawings and current manufacturer documentation.
