EDMONDSON PARK PUBLIC SCHOOL
Protector Australia was hired to create a Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) solution for Edmonson Park Public School. The site required Trapits in each pit and 29XTR filters in a Water Quality Chamber with a surface area of 10 square meters, according to the MUSIC model. The plumber and builder preferred Protector’s solution.
Protector’s WSUD solution aimed to manage stormwater runoff and enhance water quality, with ease of installation and maintenance. Each pit had Trapits to trap and retain litter and debris, preventing pollutants from entering the stormwater system. The Water Quality Chamber contained XTR filters to enable greater contact time and pollutant filtration, resulting in improved water quality.
Protector’s solution was chosen due to its proven success managing stormwater runoff, as well as its straightforward installation and maintenance. The plumber and builder were impressed by the high-quality components and attention to detail in the design and installation processes.
Protector’s WSUD solution at Edminson Park Public School has contributed to improved water quality and served as an example of effective stormwater management and sustainable urban design practices. The successful implementation of this solution demonstrates the importance of WSUD in managing stormwater runoff and improving water quality.
