The STORMPROTECTOR by PROTECTOR is a dual chamber stormwater treatment system full equipped with internal bypass and Coalesce filtration system. The system has a large retention and settle chamber to provide a smooth flow for the secondary chamber system to allow complete filtration to the needs required of your site. With a full range of sizing along with a wide range of inlet and discharge sizes, the Protector team can provide solutions for any of your stormwater retention and filtration needs with the STORMPROTECTOR series.
The STORMPROTECTOR most efficient design is its removal of oils and hydrocarbons from stormwater, performing at 95% removal of hydrocarbons. With high amounts of oil run off from vehicles in car parks, garage forecourts and other various high traffic areas, removal of these oils and hydrocarbons from out waterways is of the upmost importance. The system is designed with a coalesce filter that is able to remove a high majority of water, and depending on whether the installation is high or low risk, can ensure a release of 5mg/L of oil. The system is also capable of removing sedimentation and suspended solids through the use of the settlement chamber, silt baffle and the dropper tubes implementation to ensure that these contaminants to do not reach the coalesce filter, preventing clogging and ensuring long life. The system also features removal techniques such as adsorption, attachment and interception to remove nutrients and other unwanted contaminants in the filtration process.
The Environment Agency has published Pollution Prevention Guidelines ‘Use and Design of Oil Separators in Surface Water Drainage Systems: PPG3’. These set out the standards with which separators must comply and assist in deciding on the need for a separator at a site and the size and type that is appropriate. These Pollution Prevention Guidelines PPG3 require separators to be tested in accordance with the standard test procedure based on the European Standard BSEN858-1:2002. These standards and protocols were strictly adhered to in the design of the STORMPROTECTOR and ensure safe and viable removal of pollutants.
PROTEC WATER products are Quality Assured under BS EN ISO 9001:2000 - manufactured in a modern manufacturing plant ensuring the highest standard of quality control. Protector separators are filament wound by an advanced, patented, chop hoop filament winding process. This process produces not only circumferential strength as found in helical wound tanks, but also high longitudinal strength. The interlaminar shear strength permits tanks to be cut for manholes and pipework without undue loss in strength.
The dished ends are incorporated during the filament winding process, enabling tanks to be moulded and completed as virtually ‘one piece’ units. The manufacturing process is carefully monitored with a digital read out system. Chopping glass, winding glass, the resin-rich inner layer and main laminate resins are kept within specification parameters, thus minimising human error. Quality control procedures require each tank to be carefully inspected and tested.
All of the Protector range have been individually engineered to handle the toughest environmental situations and proven in the toughest environments such as high-water tables and volcanic soils. Problems in these areas have been solved with the installation of the StormProtector.
